No Signal from Chandrayaan-3 Mission after Lunar Sunrise, Says ISRO

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) provided an update on the Chandrayaan-3 mission, revealing that no signals have been received from the mission’s Vikram lander and Pragyan rover. Efforts are ongoing to reestablish communication and assess the condition of these lunar modules.

Earlier, an ISRO official had stated that ground stations would make attempts to revive the lander and rover, along with their on-board instruments, after the lunar sunrise on Thursday or Friday. The objective was to take advantage of optimum sunshine on the Moon. However, the chances of revival are extremely slim, and even if both modules awaken, full functionality may not be restored.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission continues to be closely monitored as ISRO persists in its efforts to reestablish contact and potentially revive the mission’s instruments.
