Mo Salah Was Ready to Go to Saudi Arabia but the Reds Locked Him Up: Michail Antonio Makes Sensational Claim

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was at the center of transfer rumors linking him to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad during the summer transfer window. Despite speculations of a lucrative move, Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp repeatedly emphasized that Salah was not available for transfer and that the doors to his exit were firmly closed.

However, West Ham striker Michail Antonio has now made a startling revelation, suggesting that Salah was indeed eager to leave Liverpool this summer due to interest from Al-Ittihad.

Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Antonio stated, “He didn’t turn that down, no way. He was locked up, and the Reds had put that red arrow across: ‘You are not going anywhere.’ He did not stop that at all. To be fair to him, he didn’t kick up a fuss and let them do what they were doing. But I know for a fact that he was ready to go.”

Antonio went on to discuss Salah’s motivations after spending six years at Anfield. “What else can he do at Liverpool? He’s done it. It’s [Saudi] a great opportunity for him; he is a Muslim man, and it had everything screaming out for him. There was no actual negative for the man to not go. I understand he has a contract, which he has fulfilled,” Antonio explained.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had previously asserted that Salah was not available for sale, and the club had not received any offers from Al-Ittihad.

Salah’s future remains a topic of speculation, but for now, he continues to represent Liverpool in the Premier League.
