Local authorities have confirmed that the landslide engulfed their vehicle on the national highway in Banihal, located in the Ramban district, on a fateful Tuesday morning. In response to this unfortunate incident, the traffic police have issued a vital advisory, urging all travelers to seek confirmation from the Traffic Control Unit (TCU) before attempting to navigate the affected highway.
Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police took to social media to share a crucial update, stating, “Traffic update @ 0700 hrs. Jammu Srinagar NHW blocked because of landslide at Kishtwari Pather Banihal. Traffic stopped from both ends. People are advised not to travel on NH-44 without confirmation from TCUs.”
