Etihad Airways Doubles Daily Flights from Abu Dhabi to Kuala Lumpur

The additional flights will provide guests with more travel options between the two cities.

Etihad Airways is set to double its daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur, starting from January 15, 2024. This increase will result in 14 flights per week connecting the two cities, offering travelers more flexibility and convenience.

Arik De, Chief Revenue Officer at Etihad Airways, highlighted the advantages of this expansion, stating, “With our convenient departures from Abu Dhabi, our second Kuala Lumpur flights will optimize timings for UAE residents wishing to have a break in Malaysia. Moreover, the new daytime and night-time flights from Kuala Lumpur allow travelers reaching Abu Dhabi more options to explore what the city has to offer in terms of business and pleasure. It further reaffirms our commitment to bringing more guests to enjoy Abu Dhabi, as well as connecting to our growing global network.”

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s vibrant capital, is renowned for its stunning skyline dominated by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. The city boasts a rich blend of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures, offering diverse culinary experiences, bustling markets, and a wealth of cultural attractions.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi continues to attract travelers with its captivating array of attractions, from architectural marvels like the Louvre Abu Dhabi to thrilling adventures at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

Both daily flights will be operated using state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft and offer in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity. This increase will result in Etihad Airways offering a total of 425,000 seats annually between Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur, representing a year-on-year capacity increase of 75%.

Furthermore, this expansion will enhance the annual cargo capacity, creating additional business opportunities and supporting bilateral trade growth.

Etihad Airways is committed to providing travelers with increased choice and connectivity, with up to 77 weekly flights connecting Abu Dhabi to Southeast Asian destinations, including Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Phuket, Manila, Jakarta, and Singapore.

This announcement follows Etihad Airways’ recent network overhaul, positioning the airline for sustainable expansion and enhancing Abu Dhabi’s connectivity to global markets, ultimately boosting the capital’s tourism industry. The new winter schedule includes new destinations, increased flight frequencies, and more convenient departure times.
