After shattering records with the grandest opening in the history of Hindi cinema, director Atlee’s Shah Rukh Khan-led blockbuster, “Jawan,” continued its meteoric rise, adding another colossal sum to its domestic collection on Friday. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, “Jawan” amassed a whopping Rs 53 crore on its second day, a figure that’s almost on par with the spectacular earnings of SRK’s last venture, “Pathaan.”
“Pathaan” had previously held the record for the most significant opening day in Hindi cinema before “Jawan” effortlessly surpassed it by nearly 20% on Thursday. The high-octane masala action film raked in an impressive Rs 74 crore across all languages in India on its debut, comfortably outperforming “Pathaan’s” record of Rs 57 crore. Adding the estimated Rs 53 crore from Friday, “Jawan” boasts a remarkable two-day nett total in India, standing at an impressive Rs 127 crore. Of this substantial sum, Sacnilk reports that an estimated Rs 47 crore was contributed by the Hindi-language release alone.
